Energy and Weatherization
Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP)
The HWAP program is designed as an energy efficiency program. Through this program, we can improve indoor air quality, increase insulation levels in homes, reduce air leakage, and test and/or replace heating appliances. We can perform HWAP services on owner occupied and rental properties. You must be at or below 200% of poverty level to qualify for this program.
AEP Community Assistance Program (AEP CAP)
The AEP CAP program is meant to reduce the baseload electrical usage in the homes of American Electric Power customers. Baseload usage is the amount of electricity used in a home minus the heating and cooling usage. In this program, we can replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL), install water saving showerheads, and replace inefficient refrigerators and freezers. You must be an AEP electric customer at or below 200% of poverty level to qualify for this program.
Electric Partnership Program (EPP)
The EPP program is very similar to the AEP CAP program. It is designed to reduce the baseload electric usage in homes. We can replace incandescent bulbs with CFL bulbs, install water saving showerheads, and replace inefficient refrigerators and freezers through the EPP program. The qualifications for this program indicate that you must be an AEP (American Electric Power) customer, be on PIPP with AEP, and have at least twelve (12) months of electrical usage on your active AEP account.
